Position: Septic Service Technician (Training Provided)
Location:
Pine, CO (80470)
Hours:
Full-Time (average work day is 7 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday)
Pay Range:
$23-$29*
*Based on skill level and years of relevant experience. The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Factors that may be used to determine your actual rate of pay include your specific skills, years of experience and other factors.
Travel Percentage:
Local travel only (within 2 hours of Pine, CO)

Job Summary:
Perform inspection, complete repairs, and diagnose issues related to septic tanks and septic systems. This is an opportunity for someone with strong problem solving skills. On the job training and support is provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and save work environment
- Proactively communicate with drivers, employees, and management
- Maintain a positive & proactive work environment
- Perform routine maintenance on septic systems and associated septic components and lines
- Perform mandated county inspections on septic systems
- Identify repair and replacement needs on septic systems and associated septic components and lines
- Provide guidance and information to customers and clients on septic system conditions, diagnosis, inspection results, etc.
- Record, report, and file associated maintenance and inspection activities
- Assist in diagnosing problems and failures in septic systems.
- Install various septic systems under supervision.
- Document activities to provide written support for performed tasks.
- Assist in repairing pipes and ensuring safe functionality.
- Request equipment and supplies to maintain inventory.
- Test for leaks in new and repaired systems.
- Assist in measuring, cutting, threading, bending, reaming, and installing pipe and fittings.
- Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings as needed.
- Locate and mark positions of pipe installations, connections, and fixtures in structures.
- Maintain a clean and stocked service vehicle.
- Attend weekly departmental meetings.
- Participate in periodic inventory and truck inspections.
- Maintain tools and machinery in good condition, using them safely.
- Explain services performed to clients and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Provide pricing to customers for approval before performing work.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school or equivalent
- On-the-job training or diploma in vehicle maintenance from vocational or trade school
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience of full time experience as a vehicle mechanic
Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and driving background check
- Sufficient hand and finger dexterity for wrenches, hand tools, and other shop equipment
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to operate various pieces of equipment
- Ability to to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach
- Ability to push/pull
- Ability to lift/cary
- Ability to grasp tools
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally exposed to wet, hot, extreme cold conditions, and moving mechanical parts may be required to work in confined spaces
- The team member may be occasionally required to travel within 2 hours of the primary shop location as business needs dictate
- The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The team member will frequently work outdoors
- Field service environment with exposure to sewer and water smells, power tool sounds, dust, and debris.
