Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our growing holistic veterinary team. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal wellness, enjoys client education, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is eager to learn integrative approaches to veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
• Restrain and comfort animals safely and compassionately
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness throughout the clinic
• Administer medications and treatments as directed
• Support holistic therapies such as acupuncture prep, herbal protocols, nutritional counseling support, and rehabilitation exercises
• Educate clients on wellness plans, supplements, and preventative care
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Perform laboratory sample collection and basic diagnostics
• Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes
• Assist with inventory and stocking supplies
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients and their pets

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary assistant experience preferred
• Interest in holistic/integrative veterinary medicine strongly encouraged
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable handling dogs, cats, and occasionally exotic animals
• Basic knowledge of animal behavior and restraint techniques
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
• Fear Free certification or willingness to obtain is a plus
