WOVEN WONDERS: AMERICAN INDIAN BASKETRY EXHIBIT AT HIWAN HOMESTEAD MUSEUM Hiwan Homestead Museum is very excited to announce its newest exhibit, Woven Wonders: American Indian Basketry scheduled January 13-May 17, 2009. Woven Wonders consists of baskets from various American Indian tribes from several regions of the United States, including Alaska, California, and the Southwest. The baskets on display come from the collections of the Jefferson County Historical Society, the University of Denver Museum of Anthropology, and the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave.
The exhibit can be seen during the Museum's open hours. Hiwan Homestead Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, noon to 5 PM. Please call 720-497-7650 for more information. The Museum was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
