RUN THE ROCK! 2009

 

Last year we held the first annual RUN THE ROCK 5K RACE at Beaver Ranch in Conifer to benefit the Mountain Resource Center.  The turnout was great (160 runners) for this USATF-certified "all trail run" through the mountains.  We received great feedback and plan to do the race again this year on August 15.

 

The 5K Race-Walk and 1/2-Mile Family Fun Run will be again located entirely on the beautiful Beaver Ranch Open Space Park in Conifer.  This will be a great big community event and day of family fun, and proceeds will benefit the Mountain Resource Center, a Colorado 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization.  The MRC provides basic and essential health and human services crucial for the health and well being of our community.  To meet this need, the Center provides services and programs in the following areas:  Community Support Services, Health Clinic and Health Education Services, Early Childhood Family Education, Youth Services, Domestic Violence and Volunteer Services.  In 2008, over 9,000 mountain-area residents benefited from these vital services.

 

RUN THE ROCK will be advertised to all runners and walkers statewide and will see extensive involvement from all our mountain-area schools and their athletes.  The race will start and end at the historic Beaver Ranch Main Lodge, where there will be music, food and then disc golf on the new course.
