The public is invited to attend a panel discussion on "Understanding the Affordable Care Act" sponsored by the nonpartisan League of Women Voters of Jefferson County to be held Wednesday, Feb. 6, from 7-9 p.m. at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood. Learn how the Affordable Care Act will impact PERA, Medicare and Medicaid and how Colorado's Healthcare Exchange and Navigator Programs will work. Expert panelists will include: George Lyford, Attorney, The Colorado Center on Law and Policy; Adela Flores-Brennan, Manager, Health Benefit Exchange Navigator; Matt Valeta, Health Policy Fellow, Colorado Consumer Health Initiative; and Donna Trujillo, Executive Director, Benefits at PERA (Public Employees' Retirement Association of CO). Parking will be available on the south side of the hospital and entrance to the ground floor auditorium is also on the south side. From Alameda Avenue turn north on Routt Street to find parking and auditorium. No reservations are needed. The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government, working to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influencing public policy through education and advocacy.
