Description
The Evergreen Park and Recreation District's Board of Directors and Staff invites community members to attend an Open House to discuss upcoming improvements to Wulf Park (adjacent to the Wulf Recreation Center). In an effort to solicit as much public input as possible, a public input session will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at the Wulf Recreation Center, located at 5300 S. Olive Road.
The meeting gives the community an opportunity to learn more about the project and provide feedback on the draft designs for major park improvements.
Those unable to attend the meeting may contact EPRD to see the plans, and are invited to comment by phone (303-880-1020), email (lhamm@eprd.co) or regular mail to Evergreen Park and Recreation District, 1521 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen, CO 80439.
The architectural plans for the park involve a three-phase project that includes an outdoor climbing wall, enhanced skate park, large grassy play area, and more. The park will be wheelchair accessible and user friendly for people of all ages.
Construction of Phase 1 is scheduled to begin this fall.
About the Evergreen Park and Recreation District
The Evergreen Park and Recreation District (EPRD) was formed in 1969 to serve the park and recreation needs of the communities of Evergreen, Bergen Park, Indian Hills, Kittredge and Marshdale. The citizens of the EPRD area place high value in their parks, recreation facilities and programs as an enhancement to the community’s quality of life. This commitment is embodied in the District’s strong parks and recreation system, with its unique facilities such as Buchanan Park, Buchanan Park Recreation Center, Evergreen Lake House, and Wulf Recreation Center.
EPRD serves approximately 22,000 people residing within its boundaries, covering 50,000 acres (78 square miles) in the foothills west of Denver. The District also offers affordable recreational options to non-district residents.
