This year, Bergen Park, Evergreen and Conifer are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Gold Rush and arrival of the first settlers. The staff and volunteers of Hiwan Homestead Museum invite you to participate by helping to make a 150th anniversary quilt! This quilt will be assembled from the quilt squares that YOU make. It will be exhibited for the first time at Hiwan Homestead Museum during the 150th anniversary celebration on July 4th from Noon until 3 P.M. It will circulate to various other locations during the rest of the year.
We invite you to get free, pre-cut 12 1/2- inch muslin square from the Museum. You can then appliqué, draw, paint or patchwork a design of your choice on the quilt square. We would prefer that your design incorporate area historical points of interest from Bergen Park, Evergreen, Conifer, or Indian Hills.
All finished squares are due June 1, 2009 at the Museum. For any questions, please contact Susan Grannell at Hiwan Homestead Museum at 720-497-7650.
