Description
Ever since Pablo Picasso combined bicycle handlebars and a seat to make a sculpture of a bull, imagery of the bicycle has appeared in artwork. The Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE) is excited to announce our first ever bicycle-themed exhibition, Cycling Reframed. Join us for the opening reception on Friday, June 26th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at CAE. Evergreen is surrounded by trails that attract a robust community of cyclists. We are bringing together the passions for art and the outdoors in an exhibit that celebrates all things bicycle related. We invited artists to submit artwork in all mediums inspired in some way by bicycling or the bicycle ? this is a juried exhibition. Photography, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and even fiber are all part of this exhibition. Cycling Reframed is co-sponsored by Team Evergreen, Colorado?s largest cycling club, and the Triple Bypass Bike Ride, which they promote. The Triple Bypass, which is July 11th this year has national participation and starts right near CAE. They are planning a special kick-off event for the Triple Bypass riders at CAE the night before the event. In addition, Evergreen Bicycle Outfitters is sponsoring a Purchase Award ? they will select a work of art to purchase for the bike shop.
