Description
Peter Ruben Morales
Peter spent the majority of his youth in Europe, Taiwan, and Hawaii. He began writing poetry in his teens and got serious about it after studying with Milton Kessler and Phyllis Hoge Thompson [now PhyllisHoge] in the 70's. Peter is an avid devotee and student of the art of Edvard Munch and the writings of Franz Kafka. Although he is a fan of all poetry, he most especially esteems the poetry of Kessler, David Ignatow, and James Wright because of their fidelity to the terse, the short lyric and the direct statement. He likes to think of his own poetry in a like manner. He finds this method the quickest means to cut a swath to the "existential bone," which he believes is what poetry ultimately aspires toward. Peter is also a nature and wildlife photographer but specializes in Bicycle Racing Photography. Of late, he has been experimenting with combining his photography with his poetry.
