Description
Do you want to find ways to better identify when a young person in your life is struggling and how to get help?
Become certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid and learn skills, resources and knowledge to help an individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help care!
Youth Mental Health First Aid is an interactive eight-hour course that presents an overview of mental illness and substance use disorders in the U.S. and introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews common treatments.
The curriculum includes access to a two hour self-paced course, and a six hour live, interactive virtual session led by certified Mental Health First Aid Instructors.
To attend a class you must:
• Complete the self-paced course prior to the scheduled virtual class. You can expect to receive instructions via email for creating your online account and completing the required prework 1-2 weeks prior to the class start date.
• Have access to a webcam and microphone on your device.
• A valid email address in order to receive materials and log in.
This course is designed for anyone who would like to make their community a healthier, happier and safer place for all. Mental Health First Aid is for everyone—from neighbors, parents, friends, veterans, first responders, people in recovery, and community leaders.
Class registration closes on 3/28/2023, so sign up now!
