Description
Jeffco League of Women Voters tackles school budget woes
School budgets resemble family budgets; there is never enough money to meet all the needs. And, like many family budgets, schools face growing problems while dealing with the impacts of cuts to their budgets by the state.
In April, the Jefferson County League of Women Voters will meet to discuss Jeffco School budget priorities. Based on interviews with school principals and administrators, the League has put together a realistic, but hypothetical budget for one school. After discussing the interviews, the cuts and the unique needs of a hypothetical school, we will talk priorities and limitations and try our hand at solving the problems.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government, working to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influencing public policy through education and advocacy.
