Presented by the Colorado Mountain Club, this introductory seminar in hiking safety skills is for those individuals interested in enjoying Colorado's backcountry. You will learn about lightening, avalanches, animal encounters, getting lost and staying found, forest fires, safety gear and emergency protocols. With the approach of cooler weather and impending snow, discussion will include a look at fall/winter conditions unique to the mountains.
