This 1-day workshop is designed for board members and nonprofit staff who are interested in increasing their skills and knowledge of nonprofit governance. Participants of this training will come away with practical tips on how to recruit and engage board members in strategic planning and fundraising in order to move your organizations toward achieving mission and building a sustainable organization. Board Governance: - Review board?s role in effective government and key responsibilities of the board - Explore board recruitment strategies and board structure - Review board governance committees - Develop strategies and agendas for effective board meetings Fundraising/Financials: - Discuss your board?s role in fundraising (Get/Give/Advocate) - Explore how you can help your board members to ?make the ask? - Review Financial oversight
