Description
There’s gold in them thar hills … and those who attend Mt. Evans Hospice & Home Health Care’s 24th annual benefit gala, “Gold Fever,” have a golden opportunity to help their community while enjoying a glittering event that includes dinner, dancing, and silent and live auctions.
The gala, scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., will be held at Mt. Vernon Country Club (24933 Clubhouse Circle, Golden). Admission is $75 per person, or $125 for patron-level tickets. Funds raised by this event will help Mt. Evans care for underinsured and uninsured patients as well as support numerous services provided by the nonprofit agency, including grief counseling, transportation for patients to medical appointments, respite care for family caregivers, and Camp Comfort, a bereavement camp for children.
This year’s theme, Gold Fever, commemorates the 150th anniversaries of Colorado’s Gold Rush and the settling of the Evergreen area. Partygoers are encouraged to come dressed for the Gold Rush, and also to bring along unwanted gold jewelry and other items to be weighed by an assayer, with proceeds benefiting Mt. Evans and donors receiving receipts for tax purposes.
In addition to the usual exciting silent auction, a live auction will feature truly spectacular items including an African safari, a golden retriever puppy, and a gourmet dinner cooked and served by the Mt. Evans board of directors.
