The federal government provides less than 10 percent of local education funding, yet it contributes significantly to the rules for how funding is used. How can or should federal funds be used in education to encourage equitable funding for all students? These are among questions the Jefferson County League of Women Voters will be studying at its meeting in the Evergreen/Conifer area on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 9:15 a.m. at Lookout Mountain Community Church, Education House, 534 Commons Drive, Genesee. All are welcome – Democrats, Republicans and Independents, men and women. Join us for refreshments and an informative, lively discussion. For more information about the meeting, call Ellen at 303-526-7446, or for more information about the Jeffco LWV, visit www.lwvjeffco.org.
