EMS is delighted to announce our selection for the 2017-2018 Evergreen Reads! The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World by the Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, and Douglas Abrams. The book is selected for parents, but we would like to share the concepts with students and ask them to read one of the eight chapters in “Pillars of Joy”. We are thrilled that author, Douglas Abrams, will be addressing students at EMS Wednesday, October 18th. 1:00 PM – Presentation in the Gymnasium 2:30 PM – Book Signing (Please come after 3:00 if your are not picking up a student!) Our local HearthFire Books will sell copies at conferences and the book signing and will donate 20% of sales to an EMS-designated charity. Parents (and interested students) will gather for Evergreen Reads “Night of Joy” January 17th at EMS.
