The Evergreen Park and Recreation District (EPRD) and the Mountain Foothills Rotary present the 11th Andy Smith Sr. Memorial Special Needs Golf Tournament on Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Hiwan Golf Club in Evergreen, CO..
Funds raised from this annual event, sponsored by the Evergreen Oil Company, will help improve the EPRD’s Special Needs Program and make financial scholarships available for the participants. The money will also help support Evergreen Christian Outreach (EChO) and the Mountain Foothills Rotary Foundation (www.mountainfoothillsrotary.org).
Former NBA Player Keith Van Horn is the tournament’s Honorary Chair. Registration on July 16 is from 6-7:15 a.m., with a shotgun start at 7:30 am. Continental breakfast and a buffet lunch are included. There will also be a silent auction. The Hiwan Golf Club (http://www.hiwan.com/) is located at 30671 Clubhouse Lane in Evergreen (http://goo.gl/maps/18XA).
Golfers are invited to register online at using the “Contact Us” form at http://www.specialneedsgolf.com/contact.php. The cost is $150 per player or $600 per foursome. Additional scholarship fund donations are encouraged. For another $45 Super Ticket, players get other goodies such as mulligans, a custom fit club certificate, and entry in a door prize drawing and a vacation trip contest.
Sponsorships are still available, including Evergreen Hero status, which awards a window decal to minimum $100 donors. Obtain one at Wulf and Buchanan Recreation Centers in Evergreen, at EChO or the Evergreen National Bank, or e-mail evergreenhero@evcohs.com.
Evergreen Park and Recreation District’s (EPRD) Special Needs Program (http://www.evergreenrecreation.com/Youth_Activities/Special_Needs.htm) contributes to the growth and development of persons with developmental disabilities and their families. It increases their opportunities to participate in community, recreation, leisure and cultural programs, as well as activities to build daily living skills. Programs and services help prepare persons who are disabled to become as socially, emotionally, and intellectually independent as possible.
Evergreen Christian Outreach (EChO) (http://evergreenchristianoutreach.org/) offers goods and services to local families in need. In addition to items like groceries, food and clothing we offer short-term assistance, mentoring and prayer support. Please feel free to contact us if you have a particular need.
