We are recruiting volunteer crisis hotline advocates for our domestic violence and sexual assault program. 4 out of our 5 lines are answered by volunteers. They come from all walks of life and educational backgrounds. When you volunteer with Mountain Peace Shelter you can expect to receive professional training and caring supervision from our outstanding team. Volunteer position can be on the go or from your own home.
Answers our 24-hour domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking helpline.
Provide resources to men and women in crisis, referral information, emotional support, and safety planning.
Crisis Line volunteers must be able to work independently, respond to calls in a calm, assertive and non-judgmental manner and respect the confidentiality and safety of all callers.
Complete and submit required documentation.
MPS Initial 20 hour Volunteer Training Class
The volunteer training program is a comprehensive 20-hour course which is online with inperson process and shadowing.
