SUMMARY:The Emotional Complexities of Giving Care
DESCRIPTION:This presentation will focus on the anxieties associated with giving care\, how these anxieties are processed in the brain\, and how the stresses of giving care impact the psychological world of the caregiver.\n\nThe format will be a lecture and discussion\, with audience participation welcomed.\n\nEdward Harper\, LCSW is a practicing clinical social worker in older adult and caregiver services and is a lecturing therapist in a hospital-based psychiatric care unit.\n\nHe has spent the last 18 years as a coordinator of a community focused and hospital based Senior Services program.
