SUMMARY:Open Auditions for "The Full Monty" at StageDoor Theatre
DESCRIPTION:Directed by Justin Johnson\; Music Direction by Trent Hines\n\n \n\n	Actors are only required to attend one day. Auditions are open to anyone age 18 and over\, and all people\, regardless of previous acting/singing experience. In addition\, the show calls for a younger male actor between the ages of ten and fifteen (needs to look around 12). \n\n \n\n	All actors should provide a headshot and current theater resume\, and come prepared with up to 32 bars of a contemporary musical theatre song selection (an accompanist will be available)\, and a 2-minute comedic monologue. Please be prepared to dance and participate in a cold reading. \n\n \n\n	Callbacks will take place the evenings of October 29th and 30th. \n\n \n\n	Performances will take place February 1-16\, 2012. \n\n \n\n	The Full Monty is a musical with a book by Terrence McNally and score by David Yazbek. In this Americanized musical stage version adapted from the 1997 British film of the same name\, six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers\, low on both cash and prospects\, decide to present a strip act at a local club after seeing their wives' enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendales. One of them\, Jerry\, declares that their show will be better than the Chippendales dancers because they'll go "the full monty" strip all the way. As they prepare for the show\, working through their fears\, self-consciousness\, and anxieties\, they overcome their inner demons and find strength in their camaraderie.
