SUMMARY:Movie "The Extraordinary World of Ben Ferencz" and post file discussion
DESCRIPTION:Evergreen Lutheran Church will have the privilege to host the movie Prosecuting Evil: The Extraordinary World of Ben Ferencz. Prosecuting Evil is the fascinating story of one man's unrelenting pursuit of justice and fearless commitment to humanity. After witnessing Nazi concentration camps shortly after liberation\, Ben Ferencz became chief prosecutor in the Einsatzgruppen SS death squads case at Nuremberg\, known as the biggest murder trial in history. He was just 27\, and it was his first trial. Since then\, he has dedicated his life to fighting for justice for victims of atrocities.\n\n \n\nProsecuting Evil is part of the Movies that Matter film series at the Mizel Museum in Denver which was developed to address the most pressing social justice issues of today and to inspire students and community members to become civically engaged in positive change.\n\n \n\nRudi Florian a local Holocaust historian will provide a special post-film discussion. He will examine the impact of the Holocaust and the importance of speaking out against hatred and bigotry in the world today. Rudi briefly served in the Hitler Youth until his parents had him released as part of their secret resistance to the Nazi regime.\n\n \n\nPlease RSVP to Kim Williams\, Director of Adult Ministries.
