Day with a special visit by Thomas Jefferson. On Saturday\, February 19th at 1:00 PM at the Timbervale Barn (behind the Museum)\, noted portrayer Jack Van Ens will give a riveting Chautauqua-style performance of the third President of the United States. Jefferson was also a scientist\, architect\, farmer\, educator\, inventor\, geographer\, and lover of the arts. Van Ens has been portraying this man of immense talent and multiple interests to various groups around the country since 1976 and has twice been invited as a Visiting Scholar at the International Center for Jefferson Studies at Monticello\, Jefferson?s home in Virginia.\n\n\n\nThis special presentation will be accompanied by an honor guard provided by the Vision Heirs and a performance by the Mile High Fife and Drum Corps.\n\n\n\nA suggested donation for this event is $10. Registration is required\; for registration or information call the Museum at 720-497-7650. \n\n\n\nHiwan Homestead Museum is a 25-room log mansion constructed in the Rustic style of architecture.  It is located in Evergreen at 4208 S. Timbervale Drive.  Hiwan Homestead Museum is a Jefferson County Open Space facility operated in partnership with the Jefferson County Historical Society.  The Museum was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
