The highlight of the festivities occurs at 1:00 when numbered ducks are dropped into the creek from an Evergreen Fire and Rescue ladder truck. The ducks race down Bear Creek to the finish line at Highland Haven Inn where they are collected for next year's race. Over $3\,000 as well as additional prizes are awarded to top finishers in the duck race!
