As we flow into shorter days and cool crisp days\, we will play with free and bound flow this week. We will make our muscles hug our bones and feel bound and then run\, twirl\, float and fly free. This wonderful concept puts a demand on your baby's or child's muscle tone. As they feel the different muscle tones to create bound movement and free they will be refining their motor coordination and developing self regulation. Three very important cognitive skills are developed in the first five years of life called Executive Function skills. They are inhibitory control\, cognitive flexibility (being able to override the obvious with the less obvious)\, and working memory. Your creative movement class gives your baby and child wonderful opportunities to develop these critical skills. The research has shown that these EF skills contribute to a lifetime of happiness and fulfillment. They help us stay the course with a goal when the going gets tough and become life long learners.
